Gillian Sze - August 4, 2009
Gillian Sze was another first-timer. The majority of her set came from Fish Bones, mostly inspired by art in galleries she visited while travelling. Gillian had an unassuming modesty about her, but a playful spirit shone through in both her witty banter and her poetry.
(The blog is just over a month old and hopefully still in the zone where we get to apologize for technical glitches. For some reason Gillian's reading did not record through the microphone next to her face but the condenser mic on a very inadequate recording device down by her feet. Gillian's reading, unfortunately, comes out tinny and full of room echo. Technical problems, however, do not diminish the quality of the poetry.)
